Bishop Billy Avery
The wise pastor is one who disciples his or her people. D. Elton Trueblood says, “The pastor is important, not because he is wiser or better than are other men, but because he is so placed that he may be able to draw out and direct the powers of other men. All his effectiveness is in the changed lives of other persons.”
This is the pastor’s chief duty in the church of the 21st Century. He or she is no longer to do the work of ten people; rather he is to put ten people to work. Certainly, the latter is more challenging than the former. By the establishing of Pastoral Leadership Teams and Administrative Teams, the work of the ministry is more effective.
The mission of the Ministry to Pastors Department is to recruit, educate, and equip pastors and ministers on a world wide basis to fulfill the Great Commission. The program is designed to give ministers a twenty-first century outlook to help carry out their calling as apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher…Ephesians 4:11-15, in preparing this generation for the coming of Christ Jesus.
Our purpose is to provide the basic principles and practices of biblical church health to pastors, preachers and leaders in order to empower 'the church' to impact the world for Christ and His Kingdom.
• Identify needs and areas of concern of pastors and ministers in order to assist in fulfilling their vision
• Recruit pastors and leaders who desire to move from traditional church to a more Christ-centered
• Coordinate summits and fellowship events that provide for spiritual enrichment
• Train and sensitize all pastors, staff and key leadership on the process, training disciples,
appreciating them and the scriptural importance of their role in the church.
